Nepal Covid-19 tally: 1,768 PCR and 839 antigen cases in 24 hours, death toll up by 39

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 640,040 as of Thursday afternoon.

The ministry says 1,768 new cases were confirmed in the country in RT-PCR tests in the past 24 hours. In this period, 7,711 swab samples were tested.

Likewise, 4,773 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 839 tested positive.

As of today, there are 61,725 active cases across the country. Of them, 4,194 are hospitalised, 916 in intensive care units and 249 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 2,141 people have achieved recovery whereas 39 deaths have been reported. Nepal’s current recovery rate is 88.6 per cent and the fatality rate 1.6 per cent.

Of the total cases so far, 545,662 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 8,597 died, according to the ministry.
