Nepal Covid-19 tally: 1,760 new cases, 1,220 recoveries, 7 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, September 15

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 868,665 as of Wednesday afternoon.

The ministry said 1,760 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 12,524 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 1,332 returned positive. Likewise, 4,320 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 428 tested positive.

Of total tests, 10.63 per cent of the PCR and 9.90 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 10.44 per cent.

As of today, there are 24,683 active cases across the country. Of them, 1,624 are hospitalised, 407 in intensive care units and 129 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 1,220 people have achieved recovery whereas seven deaths have been reported.

Of the total cases so far, 743,526 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 10,991 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 95 per cent and the death rate is 1.41 per cent.

Meanwhile, 299,131 people were vaccinated today.
