Nepal Covid-19 tally: 1,688 PCR and 713 antigen cases in 24 hours, death toll up by 34

Kathmandu, June 19

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 645,209 as of Saturday afternoon.

The ministry says 1,688 new cases were confirmed in the country in RT-PCR tests in the past 24 hours. In this period, 7,010 swab samples were tested.

Likewise, 4,686 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 713 tested positive.

As of today, there are 57,618 active cases across the country. Of them, 3,885 are hospitalised, 874 in intensive care units and 258 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 3,660 people have achieved recovery whereas 34 deaths have been reported. Nepal’s current recovery rate is 89.3 per cent and the fatality rate 1.6 per cent.

Of the total cases so far, 553,342 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 8,675 died, according to the ministry.
