Nepal Covid-19 tally: 1,669 new cases, 5,699 recoveries, 16 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, November 22

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 220,308 as of Sunday afternoon.

The ministry says 1,669 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

Of the new cases, 957 are from the Kathmandu valley.

In this period, 8,032 swab samples were tested. So far, 1 million and 660,075 people have been tested in the country.

As of today, 19,963 cases are active currently. Of them, 13,612 are in home isolation. Likewise, 359 are undergoing treatment in intensive care units and 65 on ventilators.

Of the total cases so far, 199,024 people have achieved recovery whereas 1,321 died, according to the ministry. In the past 24 hours, 5,699 people have been discharged whereas 16 deaths have been reported. Nepal’s recovery rate has reached 90.3 per cent as of today.

Over 650 people are quarantined across the country.
