Nepal Covid-19 tally: 1,584 PCR and 713 antigen cases in 24 hours, death toll up by 46

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 649,948 as of Monday afternoon.

The ministry says 1,584 new cases were confirmed in the country in RT-PCR tests in the past 24 hours. In this period, 6,583 swab samples were tested.

Likewise, 4,321 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 713 tested positive.

Of total tests, 24.06 per cent PCR and 16.5 per cent antigen samples returned positive, keeping the per-day positivity rate at 21.06 per cent.

As of today, there are 53,940 active cases across the country. Of them, 3,636 are hospitalised, 811 in intensive care units and 237 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 3,130 people have achieved recovery whereas 46 deaths have been reported.

Of the total cases so far, 559,928 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 8,772 died, according to the ministry. Nepal’s current recovery rate is 89.9 per cent and the death rate 1.5 per cent.
