Kathmandu, September 24
The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 880,152 as of Friday afternoon.
The ministry said 1,476 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.
In this period, 10,575 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 1,103 returned positive. Likewise, 5,115 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 373 tested positive.
Of total tests, 10.43 per cent of the PCR and 7.29 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 9.40 per cent.
As of today, there are 18,969 active cases across the country. Of them, 1,318 are hospitalised, 347 in intensive care units and 105 on ventilators.
In the past 24 hours, 1,550 people have achieved recovery whereas 9 deaths have been reported.
Of the total cases so far, 758,504 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,081 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 96.03 per cent and the death rate is 1.40 per cent.
Meanwhile, 172,590 people were vaccinated today.
