Nepal Covid-19 tally: 1,282 new cases, 1,262 recoveries, 7 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, September 27

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 883,221 as of Monday afternoon.

The ministry said 1,282 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 12,081 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 975 returned positive. Likewise, 3,407 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 307 tested positive.

Of total tests, 8.07 per cent of the PCR and 9.01 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 8.27 per cent.

As of today, there are 17,535 active cases across the country. Of them, 1,313 are hospitalised, 385 in intensive care units and 125 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 1,262 people have achieved recovery whereas seven deaths have been reported.

Of the total cases so far, 762,416 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,103 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 96.2 per cent and the death rate is 1.4 per cent.

Meanwhile, 312,874 people were vaccinated today.
