Nepal Covid-19 tally: 1,227 new cases, 255 recoveries, 8 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, April 19

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 285,900 as of Monday afternoon.

The ministry says 1,227 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours. Of them, 634 are from the Kathmandu valley.

In this period, 7,001 swab samples were tested. So far, 2 million and 352,502 people have been tested in the country.

Likewise, in this period, 547 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which 54 were found infected.

As of today, 7,254 cases are active. Of them, 587 are hospitalised, 148 in intensive care units, and 43 on ventilators.

Of the total cases so far, 275,555 people have achieved recovery whereas 3,091 died, according to the ministry. In the past 24 hours, 255 people have been discharged whereas eight deaths were reported. 

Over 80 people are quarantined across the country.
