Nepal Covid-19 tally: 1,015 new cases, 262 recoveries, 8 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, April 18

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 284,673 as of Sunday afternoon.

The ministry says 1,015 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours. Of them, 435 are in the Kathmandu valley.

In this period, 5,084 swab samples were tested. So far, 2 million and 345,501 people have been tested in the country.

Likewise, in this period, 699 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which 81 were found infected.

As of today, 6,290 cases are active. Of them, 576 are hospitalised, 116 in intensive care units, and 46 on ventilators.

Of the total cases so far, 275,300 people have achieved recovery whereas 3,083 died, according to the ministry. In the past 24 hours, 262 people have been discharged whereas eight deaths were reported. 

Over 80 people are quarantined across the country.
