Nepal approves China’s Sinovac Covid-19 vaccine for emergency use

Kathmandu, June 2

The government of Nepal has approved China’s Sinovac Covid-19 vaccine. The announcement comes just a day after the World Health Organisation also endorsed the vaccine.

Health Ministry Spokesperson Krishna Prasad Paudel says the Department of Drgu Administration recently approved the vaccine.

With this, Nepal has approved five Covid-19 vaccines for use in the country: Covishield and Covaxin from India, Vero Cell and Sinovac from China, and Sputnik V from Russia.

However, the country has been using only Covishield and Vero Cell so far.
