Nepal imported playing cards worth Rs 1 billion in 5 years

Dashain might not be over yet for you, and you must be playing cards. But, here is something that you should read now: Nepal imported playing cards worth Rs 1 billion in five years.

Nepal, however, does not produce playing cards yet.

The Department of Customs records says Nepal imported 66.2 million packets of playing cards by spending Rs 1.05 billion in the past five years.

In the last fiscal year, the import was even higher. Nepal spent Rs 274.9 million, importing 13.4 packets of playing cards that year.

In the first two months (mid-July-mid-September) of the current fiscal year, the country imported playing cards worth Rs 50 million.
