NCP to form special departments to look after state, provincial and security affairs

The announcement ceremony of Nepal Communist Party

Kathmandu, June 21

The ruling Nepal Communist Party has proposed forming 32 departments under its headquarters. A task force formed to design the organisational structure of new party has finalised the list.

The task force has proposed forming a special department to look after provincial affairs though Standing Committee members will lead its provincial committees.

Likewise, another department will be formed to look after state affairs that includes political appointments among others.

Yet another department will be formed to study and express opinions about security affairs.

Most of these 32 departments are almost parallel to ministries of the central government. These thematic departments will have a chief, a deputy chief, a secretary and 35 members. Chiefs and deputies will be appointed by the Central Committee whereas secretaries will be elected in the committee itself.

It has been learned that the proposal will be endorsed after the party’s two chairmen–KP Sharma Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal–will return home from China and Singapore respectively.
