Kathmandu, February 20

The ruling Nepal Communist party’s spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha says the party is likely to check the authenticity of an audio clip, in which the party’s leader and Minister for Communications and Information Technology Gokul Baskota is said to have talked with a Swiss company agent for a commission for a deal about the establishment of a security printing press.

After verifying that the voice heard in the audio belongs to Baskota, the party will discuss further and take action, according to Shrestha.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s press advisor Surya Thapa says the prime minister will decide further action after talking to minister Baskota. He says Baskota is currently in Kanchanpur and the PM will summon him once he returns to Kathmandu this afternoon.
