NCP set to join Koshi Government, oath-taking today

Kathmandu, August 17

The Nepali Communist Party (NCP) is set to join the Koshi Province government today, following a three-point agreement reached between CPN-UML and the NCP in the first week of Shrawan.

Of the province’s nine ministries, four will go to the NCP, while UML will lead five, including the chief minister’s post.

With a large number of aspirants within the party, NCP leaders are currently deliberating over whom to select. According to Indra Bahadur Angbo, leader of the NCP’s parliamentary party, the party will finalise its ministerial picks today.

Once the NCP names its ministers, an oath-taking ceremony is being prepared for this afternoon after 3 pm.
