Kathmandu, February 2
The ongoing central committee meeting of the ruling Nepal Communist Party is concluding on Sunday. Before the meeting concludes, nine top leaders of the party held a separate meeting of the secretariat to discuss how to respond to questions of the CC members.
During the meeting that began on Wednesday last week, the leaders have raised questions over various issues. In particular, the members have demanded that the party form an experts’ team to study the content of the controversial Millennium Challenge Corporation deal and another commission to investigate into properties of the party’s leaders.
Likewise, they have also demanded the formation of politburo as soon as possible.
Two chairpersons of the party–KP Sharma Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal–and general secretary Bishnu Paudel are scheduled to respond to the questions before concluding the meeting today.
