NCP secretariat discussing Cabinet reshuffle

A meeting of the Nepal Communist Party secretariat

Kathmandu, November 20

As Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Tuesday announced that he would reshuffle the Cabinet on Wednesday, the ruling Nepal Communist Party is holding its secretariat meeting today. It is expected that the meeting will finalise the names of the new ministers.

Oli’s press advisor Surya Thapa informs that the secretariat meeting has been scheduled for 12:30 pm today. He says names of the new ministers will be announced after the meeting and they will take the oath of office today itself. The exact time of oath, however, has not been fixed yet.

Before the secretariat meeting, two chairmen of the party–Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal–will hold a one-on-one meeting. Sources say Dahal will hand over a list of the leaders from the former Maoist Centre side that he wants to see in the Cabinet.

Earlier on Monday, the two leaders had met to discuss various issues including the reshuffle, but it had ended without any conclusion.
