Kathmandu, October 27
Following a similar decision of the main opposition Nepali Congress, the ruling Nepal Communist Party has also decided to cancel the annual tea party it would organise on the occasion of Dashain and Tihar festivals.
The party has cited the surging number of active coronavirus infection cases and increasing risk of the the virus spread for the cancellation.
Issuing a public statement, the party’s central office secretary duo Shree Ram Dhakal and Ishwari Rijal informed of the decision on Tuesday.
Whereas the Nepali Congress would organise the event on the final day of Dashain, Kojagrat Purnima, the NCP would fix a date just days before the event every year.
