The family of Nabindra Raj Joshi, a central leader of the main opposition Nepali Congress, has refused to accept Rs 1 million support that the government offered for the leader’s treatment.

After surviving a brain haemorrhage on February 26, Joshi is undergoing treatment at Norvic Hospital of Kathmandu. He is on a ventilator, unconscious.

Joshi’s personal secretary Pushkar Pandey says, “His family has announced not to accept the support.”

Earlier last Friday, Deputy Prime Minister Ishwar Pokharel had informed the family of the offer as he visited the hospital.
