Chitwan, June 6
The ongoing Narayangadh-Butwal road expansion project has been interrupted owing to the contractor’s slow work.
The project’s East Section Chief Sujan Adhikari says the contractor seems busy in a common culvert of Bhedabari. Elsewhere, there is no significant progress in work while there neither are enough workers.
Adhikari says his section is making all possible efforts to collect and provide equipment as well as manage the human resources. However, the contractor has shown no interest whatsoever. The contracted company had first complained of the lack of environment to work due to the lockdown, adding it has not changed his attitude even after the government’s directions to resume the work.
China State Construction had won the contracts for the road expansion. Adhikari is of view that the project will not get speed before October/November.
