NCP appoints chairpersons and secretaries for all metropolitan cities
Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has finalised chairpersons and secretaries of the party for metropolitan cities. A secretariat meeting of the party held at the prime minister’s residence in Baluwatar on Saturday finalised chairs and secretaries of all the six metropolises.
Nirmal Deula and Rabindra Shrestha have been appointed chairman and secretary, respectively, for Kathmandu. Likewise, Manjari Kayastha has been picked as chairman of Lalitpur and Gyanendra Shakya has been appointed secretary of the metropolis.
As per the decision, Deepak Koirala has been appointed chairman of Pokhara Metropolitan City and Bishwo Prakash Lamichhane has been picked secretary of the party for the metropolis. Ram Prasad Neupane and Ishwor Sapkota have been appointed chairman and secretary of the party for Bharatpur. Similarly, Sagar Thapa has been picked chairman for Biratnagar Metropolitan City as Hem Karki has been appointed secretary. The party has selected Rahbar Ansari as chairman for Birgunj and Bishwo Prakash Sharma as secretary for the metropolis.
Gautam not to complete in Kaski 2 by-election
Senior NCP leader Bamdev Gautam has announced that he will not compete in by-elections from Kaski-2. Gautam informed the NCP Secretariat meeting on Saturday that he would not compete in the polls from the constituency.
Sources have been saying that PM KP Sharma Oli himself had asked Gautam to compete for the post of a lawmaker from the constituency that has been lying vacant since the demise of the then Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Rabindra Adhikari in a chopper crash in February.
Gautam, however, has refused to do so.
Chitwan Medical College to refund students
Protesting medical students have reached an agreement with officials of the Chitwan Medical College (CMC), Bharatpur, in which the medical college has agreed to refund excess fees taken by it.
The college has told students that it will refund their money by November 5. Likewise, students have agreed to end protest and resume classes from Sunday.
Earlier, the Tribhuvan University (TU) had urged the college to return the amount it had overcharged with MBBS students.

Spread good messages about govt, PM tells NCP lawmakers
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had directed the lawmakers of the ruling party NCP to communicate the good deeds done by the government. Speaking at NCP Parliamentary Party meeting held on Saturday afternoon, PM Oli said that it was necessary as messages were being spread about the government’s failure.
NOC slashes prices of LPG and aviation fuel
Nepal Oil Corporation has slashed the price of LPG and aviation fuel ‘on the occasion of Constitution Day’. The NOC has decreased the price of cooking gas by Rs 25 of each cylinder. Along with that, the NOC says it has also decreased the price of aviation fuel by $50 per litre.

Advance ticket booking starts from today, no price hike
Advance ticket bookings for Dashain festival is due to start on Sunday. A meeting among the Department of Transport Management (DoTM), transport entrepreneurs and traffic police on September 13 had decided to open the booking of bus tickets for Dashain from September 22.
Though transport entrepreneurs had been seeking a hike in public transportation fare prior to opening the booking of bus tickets for the festive season, the DoTM said that bus ticket bookings would be opened based on the current transportation fare.
NTC to expand 4G to 25 cities
Nepal Telecom (NTC), the first operator to bring 4G in Nepal, is set to expand the 4G to more areas by Dashain. In the first phase, Nepal Telecom will provide the 4G coverage to 25 major areas from this Dashain festival. Currently, the Nepal Telecom 4G is only available in Kathmandu and Pokhara only.
