Govt bringing new rules for teachers

The government is bringing a new provision making it mandatory for teachers to pass a preliminary exam if they want to become permanent teachers. The government is also planning to conduct the exam in the Public Service Commission style with two 100-mark written examinations (subjective and objective) and one 25-mark interview. Previously, teachers had to only get 40 percent of 100 marks to pass the exam. The Teachers Service Commission regulation has been amended in a way which hopes to bring good teachers.
