1.5 million doses of Moderna Covid-19 vaccine arriving in Nepal

Kathmandu, December 9

Nearly 1.5 million doses of the Moderna Covid-19 vaccine are arriving in Nepal on Thursday.

The chief of the Logistic Management Section of the Department of Health Services, Surendra Chaurasiya, shares 1.497 million doses of Moderna vaccine from the Covax facility are going to be brought.

The vaccine would arrive in Kathmandu this afternoon via Qatar Airways.

The Moderna vaccine would be administered to children aged between 12 and 17 years.

Chaurasiya further says additional 1.965 million doses of the Moderna vaccine is going to be brought on December 12. According to the department, the government has been making preparations to purchase and bring four million doses of Moderna and six million doses of Pfizer vaccines within December 30.

Meanwhile, 600,000 doses of Covishield vaccine were brought from India on Wednesday from the Covax facility.
