Kathmandu, August 4

Mirror, a play directed by Sushan Basnet is currently being staged at Mandala Theatre, Kathmandu.

The play depicts the story of a Swoopna who aspires to be a rap artist. His father, an ex-army officer, opposes his ambition and pressures him to join the British Army. Swoopna encounters numerous obstacles in his journey towards a rap career.

While talking to the Onlinekhabar Basnet reveals a personal connection to the story he has brought to life on stage.

“My play explores the relationship between a father and son and their conflicting ideologies about career choices. I had a similar experience when I decided to pursue an acting career,” said Basnet.

Although fictional, Basnet believes the story portrayed in a Mirror resonates with countless individuals globally, reflecting universal themes of ambition, struggle, and the pursuit of dreams against all odds.

Mirror will run through August 11, every day, except Monday, at Mandala Theatre at 4:00 pm. There will be an additional show on Saturday at noon.
