Minister Gyawali expresses sorrow over destruction caused by wild fires in Australia

Kathmandu, January 6

Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradeep Gyawali has expressed sorrow over the destruction caused by bush fires in Australia, which has destroyed thousands of hectares of forests and killed over three dozen people and millions of animals.

“Saddened to know the loss of lives of many people n [and] millions of animals, irreparable loss of flora n fauna, damages to properties n [and] basic infrastructure by devastating bushfire engulfing many parts of Australia. My deep condolences to the government n [and] friendly people of Australia,” minister Gyawali said in a tweet on Monday.

The Australian ambassador to Nepal Pete Budd thanked Gyawali for the message. “Our thanks for your message [Pradeep Gyawali] of support all those Nepalis who have also reached out with their messages and offers of assistance,” the ambassador said in a tweet.
