Kathmandu, June 22

Meteorologists have said the monsoon waves across Nepal have got more active since Sunday, forecasting rainfall in most parts of the country for at least next two days.

The monsoon waves had entered Nepal on June 12 from the eastern side, and they have now reached the far-wester districts by Sunday, according to the Weather Forecasting Division under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.

Meteorologist Min Kumar Aryal says the active waves have brought moderate to heavy rainfall across the country on Sunday and Monday. He adds the waves will continue to influence the weather pattern on Tuesday and Wednesday also.

The water level in Manohara of Kathmandu and Tinau in Butwal has crossed safety levels, the department says, urging the people living in adjacent areas to stay alert against the possibility of floods.
