Maruti Suzuki Nepal is launching their new car in Nepal, the Maruti Suzuki Fronx. The Fronx was launched 3 months ago in India and has finally made its way to Nepal.
The car is also called a coupe SUV for the small size but large aggressive appearance it has. The car is based on another popular hatchback from Maruti Suzuki, the Baleno. The Baleno has been a popular hatchback for its looks and performance it delivers in the price range.
The Fronx shared the same platform as the Baleno but with a completely different look. The look is inspired by the new Grand Vitara. It is not even a hatchback or an SUV but more of a compact SUV with the characteristics of both. The car can be a popular option for cars below Rs 4.5 million.

Design
The Maruti Suzuki Fronx has a modern sporty design with an aggressive look. It has an SUV look with a tall bonnet and an upright nose section.
Exterior
The headlights of the Fronx are a set below the three-strip LED DRLs which is quite similar to the Grand Vitara. The front has an aggressive character with an unraised ground clearance of 190 mm.
The sides also have a strong character. It rises in the middle and dips in the back giving it its own unique identity. The wheel has stylish alloys with a tyre size of 195/55 R16 which goes along really with the colour options provided.
The rear is also new with three strips of slanted LED taillights which are stretched all over the rear panel. The connecting rear taillights on all cars are a trend that Maruti Suzuki has also followed.
Interior
The interior of the Maruti Suzuki Fronx is also quite nice. The overall quality is decent for the price range. It features a black and brown, dual-tone colour which gives a premium feel.
The front dash is made of hard plastic. There is a 9-inch infotainment display which has both wireless Apple car play and Android Auto. It has many features which can help you while driving the car. The climate control is situated just below the infotainment display.
The storage space is good enough in the Fronx. The glove box is of decent size. There are two cupholders in the centre console. You also get a wireless charging pad. The centre console also includes the 5-speed manual gear shifter. The handrest on the front has some storage space.
The seats are quite comfortable with headrests in the front driver and passenger seats. The rear has three seats with good legroom and headroom.
The instrument cluster on the Fronx includes both digital and analogue parts. The analogue part gives details such as speed, RPM and fuel. The digital part gives details such as range, average fuel economy, driving time, total idle fuel saved, idle time stop, date and time, torque and power. It also has a heads-up display which gives you normal information such as the speed and time.
Performance
The Maruti Suzuki Fronx offers two engine options, a 1.2L Dual Jet, Dual VVT engine and a 1.0L Turbo Boosterjet Engine. But only the 1.2L Dual Jet, Dual VVT engine is being available to Nepal with a displacement of 1197 cc.
It has a maximum power of 89.73 PS at 6000rpm and maximum torque of 113 Nm at 4400rpm. In Nepal, it is available with a 5-speed manual transmission whereas in India you also have automatic transmission options.
The front of the Fronx has a disc brake and the rear has a drum brake. Its suspension system features a Macpherson Strut with Coil Springs in the front and a Torsion Beam with Coil Springs at the rear. It has a fuel efficiency of 21.79 kmpl which is pretty good.
Safety
The Fronx also hasn’t compromised on the safety part in the price range. It has 3 Point ELR seatbelts meaning the seatbelt has three attachment points: one at the chest, one at the waist, and one at the pelvis.
It has ESP( Electronic Stability Program) which helps the car to swerve easily on twists and turns and not go off balance which helps protect the car.
It has a rear view camera and rear parking sensors on the back which helps you park the car properly without damaging the rear side.
It also includes ISOFIX child seat anchors on the rear seats which allow parents to easily carry children between trips.
For enhanced safety, the Fronx includes 6 airbags to help improve safety during a collision or an accident.
It also includes a 360 camera feature which allows you to see the surrounding quite nicely.
