Maoists nominate ministers, Magar to head Ministry of Water Supply

Kathmandu, March 16

MP Bina Magar, who won the Kanchanpur-1 seat in Parliament, has been named Nepal’s new Minister for Water Supply. Magar is the daughter-in-law of Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal.

Similarly, Barsa Man Pun has been named Minister of Power and Water Resources. Giriraj Mani Pokhrel has been given the reigns of Ministry of Education, Shakti Basnet Ministry of Forest.

Similarly, Chakra Pani Khanal will head the Ministry of Agriculture. Khanal was the Prachanda’s principal political advisor during his stint as Prime Minister. Janardan Sharma was expected to take the agriculture portfolio, but his name was struck off during last-minute negotiations.
