Kathmandu, October 21
Lawmakers from the CPN-Maoist Centre, Rupa Maharjan and Nisha Sah, on Friday said they stand firmly in favour of the impeachment motion registered in the Parliament against CIAA Chief Commissioner Lok Man Singh Karki.
Maharjan and Sah said this at a time when some Maoist lawmakers have alleged party leader and Energy Minister Janardan Sharma ‘Prabhakar’ of collecting lawmakers’ signatures in favour of the motion by hiding the real purpose. Maharjan and Sah were among those, who had expressed their dissatisfaction.
The two lawmakers clarified on Friday they stand in favour of impeaching Karki.
Talking to Onlinekhabar, lawmaker Maharjan said: Let no one have an illusion that I am not supporting Lok Man.
She said further: I would have been the first to sign on the impeachment motion against Lok Man if the party had told me to do so. There’s no one (in the party), who supports Lok Man. That includes me.
Lawmaker Sah said on her Facebook post that she supports the impeachment motion.
She said: Lok Man should not be spared. Backtracking from the procedure by pointing that it was wrong will be suicidal. Our party should take initiatives and be able to convince the (Nepali) Congress (to support the motion).
