Maoist ministers won’t quit even if they are relieved of portfolios: Rayamajhi

Maoist leader Top Bahadur Rayamajhi speaks with journalists in Kathmandu, on Monday, October 16, 2017.

Kathmandu, October 16

CPN-Maoist Centre leader Top Bahadur Rayamajhi says ministers representing his party in the Cabinet will not quit even if the Prime Minister will relieve them of portfolios.

Speaking with journalists in Kathmandu today. Rayamajhi said his party was committed to its earlier agreement that this coalition would continue till upcoming provincial and federal parliamentary elections.

The former Deputy Prime Minister said, “Our comrades are in the government currently according to an agreement between us and the Congress. For now, we have decided to keep the coalition intact till the polls.”

However, Rayamajhi maintained that the Maoist party would take an appropriate decision if the PM decided anything soon.

He also expressed dissatisfaction over Prime Minister’s decision to induct Rastriya Prajatantra Party leaders into the Cabinet.

He said the proposed unification among major communist parties of the country was a need of the time as more than hundred parties with the same ideology were not necessary.
