Kathmandu, March 19
Owing to the growing fears of novel coronavirus infection, the operator of Manakamana cable car service says the service will be shut from Saturday till April 12.
DN Kayastha, the deputy general manager of Manakamana Darshan Pvt Ltd, says the service, however, will function today and tomorrow.
Earlier, the Chitwan District Administration Office has directed the company to shut the service so as to let people avoid any crowd. Though the popular temple lies in the Gorkha district, the cable car service base station is in Chitwan.
Hundreds of pilgrims heading to the temple use the service every day.
