A man has been arrested on suspicion of defrauding people by falsely claiming to have donated to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund.
The arrested man has been identified as 32-year-old Bhagwan Karki of Gokulganga Rural Municipality-2, Ramechhap.
The District Police Office, Ramechhap, arrested Karki. According to police, Karki created a fake bank statement claiming that he had donated Rs 120,000 to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund established by the Government of Nepal.
Police said he used ChatGPT to create a fabricated donation statement and posted it on social media to promote the false claim.
