Jaleshwar, February 4
Statues of two martyrs killed during the Madhesh Movement have been stolen from Parikauli Chok of Jaleshwar-Janakpur road section of the Mahottari district on Wednesday.
The statues of Birendra Bichchha and Rajesh Thakur were stolen last night, informs DSP Prakash Bista of the District Police Office.
Jaleshwar municipality’s ward 9 chairman Rabindra Yadav says he was surprised to find that the statues were not at their place on Thursday morning.
According to the locals, the statues were there until 11 last night.
The DPO has mobilised a team to search the statues, according to the DPO Chief SP Tika Bahadur KC.
