Mahato’s party to boycott talks over Biratnagar action

Kathmandu, January 3. Rajendra Mahato’s party Sadhbhawana has decided not to take part in talks with major political parties.

The party said it will boycott today’s talks, scheduled for 6 pm, to protest the ‘attack’ on leader Rajendra Mahato. The party has demanded that the government apologise publicly for the December 26 incident.

Mahato was injured in clash with police near the Indo-Nepal border in Biratnagar. He is receiving treatment in New Delhi.

Party general secretary Manish Suman said, “We have already said that we will not participate in talks until the government apologises.”
