Kathmandu, February 20
Prime Minister Prachanda said on Monday his government will announce the date of local level elections on Monday itself. Prachanda said they will not let the dream of pushing the country towards anarchy and fishing in troubled waters come true.
He was speaking at the general convention of PABSON. At the programme, Prachanda said in about nine months, government will conduct provincial and federal elections at one go.
Prachanda said his government will take a middle path when it comes to conducting elections. He said both the points — that elections shall happen only after Constitution amendment and amendment should not take place — are wrong.
The Constitution amendment process will move ahead, he said, adding: Constitution amendment is the most important thing and for this, I am announcing elections today.
He asked all concerned to make adequate prepartions and make the polls successful.
