Leftist alliance likely to field Khagaraj Bhatta against Deuba in Dadeldhura

Province 7

Dhangadhi, October 19

The leftist alliance comprising CPN-UML and CPN-Maoist Centre are at the last stage of finalising constituency allocation between the parties in Province 7.

It has been learned that the parties are planning to field Maoist leader Khagaraj Bhatta against Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba in the only constituency in Dadeldhura district.

Likewise, UML leader Karna Bahadur Thapa is likely to contest from Bajura district for the provincial assembly and he is most likely to be the alliance’s candidate for chief minister in Province 7. The Maoist party, however, is yet to formally announce that it has left the claim over powerful position.

Among 16 federal constituencies of the province, the Maoists will get five constituencies. Likewise, they will get 12 provincial constituencies out of 32.
