Kathmandu, July 2

As on Thursday, landslides and floods in various parts of the country have blocked significant roads across Nepal on Friday also.

The Narayangadh-Muglin road in the Chitwan district that connects Kathmandu with the East-West Highway has been blocked due to four landslides along the 36-km stretch.

Police have said one of those landslides at Charkilo is quite a big one and clearing the road after removing the landslide debris will take still a few hours.

Likewise, three other routes connecting the capital to southern Nepal have been obstructed.

Floods and landslides have damaged several points of the Tribhuvan Highway, Kanti Highway and Hetaunda-Sisneri and Hetaunda-Phakel roads that would connect Kathmandu to Hetaunda, informs the Makawanpur District Police Office.

Thousands of vehicles have been stuck halfway due to the obstructions. Efforts are underway to resume the obstructed roads.
