The government says it will record all data about land of individual landlords from across the country in an online system by the end of this fiscal year, mid-July 2019.
The Land Record Information Management System (LRIMS) will be implemented at all land revenue offices across the country, according to the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation.
The system was launched around three years ago at the Land Revenue Office in Kalanki of Kathmandu. So far it has been launched in 19 other offices.
The system also records biometric information about landlords. Asian Development Bank has provided a grant assistance to launch the system.
Meanwhile, stakeholders have raised questions about safety of the personal data as the software was made in India and its server is in India currently as well.
