Lamichhane, Chinese ambassador discuss support after Bhotekoshi flood

Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) chair Rabi Lamichhane and Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Zhang Maoming held a meeting on Wednesday to discuss the devastation caused by the Bhotekoshi flood and China’s support for Nepal’s response.

The meeting was held at Lamichhane’s residence in Budhanilkantha.

During the meeting, Ambassador Maoming expressed sorrow over the damage caused by the flood and said China was ready to provide Nepal with assistance in any way needed.

Maoming also conveyed that China would stand with Nepal through the search and rescue efforts and reconstruction. She said China was committed to helping strengthen Nepal’s early warning systems.

According to Lamichhane’s secretariat, Maoming said China had been providing necessary support, including rescuers and DNA experts, since shortly after the disaster and would continue such assistance for as long as needed.

Lamichhane thanked China for its ongoing support.

He also urged China to further strengthen and improve coordination in Nepal’s disaster early warning system.
