Kathmandu, April 9
Kirtipur Municipality on the southern outskirts of Kathmandu hosted its first ever youth summit on the occasion of its 23rd anniversary.
Local youth organisations including Yuwalaya and Indrayani Pariwar Club supported the local government in hosting the event on Sunday and Monday.
The Municipality says the event was organised so as to provide the youth of the city a platform to participate in the city’s planning process and sensitise them on local development issues.
During the event, around 60 participants representing 10 wards of the city discussed youth’s role in improving the quality of education, Kirtipur’s identity as cultural and touristic city, social security and livelihood opportunities.
The assembly issued a seven point declaration on its final day on Monday.
