Kathmandu, January 22
The government has listed the cricket stadium in Kirtipur as a national priority project.
The Ministry of Urban Development has included the project under the national priority category. In the last week of Ashoj, the current government approved the master plan of the Tribhuvan University Cricket Stadium and instructed the concerned agencies to proceed with new agreements.
A Cabinet meeting had also directed Tribhuvan University, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the National Sports Council, and other relevant bodies to acquire the required land in accordance with the law, as per the approved master plan.
According to the Ministry of Urban Development, there is a plan to invest an additional Rs 10 billion under the approved master plan. Following this, the stadium’s capacity will be expanded and upgraded into a state-of-the-art facility.
