From Girls’ stories to Kangchenjunga: Kimff 2025 marks final day of screenings

As Kathmandu International Mountain Film Festival (kimff) 2025 approaches, today is the last day to catch up with the films and exhibitions being shown at QFX Chhaya Centre.  

‘She creates Change’, featuring stories of six women overcoming their challenges as girls from six different countries will be screened with the panel discussion on ‘Stories of Girls, With Girls, By Girls’. Other films like Silent Scars, Entropy, The Parkinson’s Project, Nelum Kuluna (Tentigo) and Bring Them Home are being screened today on the fourth floor of Chhaya Centre.

Kala Salon, the floor above the QFX cinemas of Chhaya Centre, has an exhibition dedicated to menstruation and menstrual hygiene that is happening as part of Kimff’s satellite events. And on the top floor, a photo exhibition of Kangchenjunga is also held. 

This edition of Kimff has also brought a VR (Virtual Reality) film ‘Maya: The Birth of a Superhero’ to Nepal. Screened at Festival De Cannes, this film is about the experience of a coming-of-age girl and the taboo of menstruation that follows her. Prioritising the accessibility to VR film, this particular film can be viewed for free. 

In the later half of the day, the awards for International films and national films will be handed over to the winners and the film that wins the Audience Award will be screened. 

Tickets cost Rs. 150 for the general public and Rs. 100 for students.
