KC supporters obstruct govt vehicles in Dadeldhura

Doti, November 10

Supporters of medical education reform activist Dr Govinda KC has obstructed the operation of government vehicles in Dadeldhura district so as to put pressure on the government to address his demands.

KC started his 17th hunger strike on November 4.

Chairman of Dadeldura Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Lok Raj Bhatta, says that the protest was organised in support of KC and adds that the government needs to address his demands. He also informs other private cars were not sopped from the operation.

Bhatta also says that shops in Bagarbajar were also being closed down for an hour in protest. However, Chief District Officer Raju Prasad Paudel says that they are not going to stop the operation of government vehicles on the road.

“We are not going to stop using them just because someone wants us to. This is ludicrous,” stats Paudel.

Is KC going to be shifted?

KC, whose health deteriorated on Saturday, was taken to Dadeldura Hospital. But doctors attending to him say that he needs to be taken to a better hospital with better facilities.

“His blood pressure is quite high as is his heartbeat. We have to carry out a few tests which can’t be done here. He needs to be shifted to a better hospital,” informs the hospital’s medical superintendent Dr Jitendra Kandel.
