KC refuses to get on army chopper, vows to continue hunger strike

Kathmandu, November 11

Medical education reform activist Dr Govinda KC has declined to end his hunger strike. He also refused to come to Kathmandu.

A Nepal Army helicopter had gone Dadelduhra where KC has been staging his 17th hunger strike from November 4.

Dadeldura Hospital, where KC has been admitted to due to health problems, had said on Sunday that it could not take care of KC as it did not have the necessary equipment. The hospital had asked the government to shift him to a better hospital.

After the hospital’s statement, the helicopter flew to Dadeldhura to airlift KC to Kathmandu. However, KC has declined the offer and said that he is healthy and will continue his hunger strike in Dadeldhura.

Earlier on Monday, Education Minister Giriraj Mani Pokharel had requested KC to stop his hunger strike.
