Man killed in Kathmandu’s midnight motorbike accident

Kathmandu, January 19

A man has died in a motorbike accident in Koteshwar of Kathmandu a few minutes ahead of Tuesday midnight.

Ananta Limbu (26), a permanent resident of the Morang district in eastern Nepal, currently residing in Sallaghari of Bhaktapur, had died as the two-wheeler he was riding (Pradesh 3-02-026 Pa 1824) collided with a tipper yesterday, according to police. The tipper’s registration number is yet to be identified.

Seriously injured in the accident, he had breathed his last while being treated at the National Trauma Centre in Kathmandu.

Meanwhile, the pillion rider, Dev Lama (31), a resident of the Kavre district, has sustained injures. He is undergoing treatment at the same health facility.

Police say the tipper driver is on the run and they have launched a manhunt.
