Kathmandu, November 11
The Art Space of Nepal is hosting a unique exhibition featuring four contemporary Nepali artists alongside a tribute to the late Japanese artist Yumi Sano at Nepal Art Council, Babermahal. The exhibition, running from November 9-13, 2024, showcases the works of renowned artists Erina Tamrakar, Bishal Maharjan, Shailee Rana Bista, and Sheila Rajbhandary. Each artist brings a distinct perspective on Nepal’s evolving identity through art, exploring themes from feminine power and spirituality to Nepal’s cultural heritage and architectural beauty.
The exhibition also honours Yumi Sano, a Japanese artist who worked as an art teacher in Nepal before her untimely passing in 1999. Her art, deeply influenced by Nepal’s landscapes and people, is displayed as a tribute to her life and legacy.
The exhibition is open daily from 10 am to 6 PM at the Nepal Art Council, Babar Mahal.
