On Saturday, flooding in Kathmandu’s rivers and streams caused severe inundation of nearby houses, roads, and structures. The Manohara and Bagmati rivers overflowed, leading to significant flooding, especially in the riverside areas of Lalitpur and Kathmandu.
In Lalitpur, the floodwaters entered the UML party office and the Chyasal stadium. In Kathmandu, the vegetable market in Balkhu was submerged. Additionally, in Bhaktapur, the Manohara river displaced residents from 18 houses.
The water levels in Kathmandu’s rivers on Saturday exceeded expectations.
