The woman found dead inside a closed suitcase in Rautahat has been identified.
According to Rautahat police spokesperson DSP Raju Karki, the deceased has been identified as 26-year-old Rubi Kumari Sah, originally from Madhavpur, Madhav Narayan Municipality–2, Rautahat.
“Preliminary investigation has revealed that she is Rubi Kumari Sah. Her relatives have arrived. Her permanent home is in Muzaffarpur, India. Further details are being investigated,” DSP Karki said.
According to him, the deceased Rubi has a son. She had been living in a rented room in Madhavpatti for the past month. Police suspect that she might have been murdered and her body stuffed into the suitcase.
At around 10:30 pm on Saturday, a suitcase was found abandoned on the Gaur–Sirsia road section near Mudwagate in Gaur Municipality–9. Finding it suspicious, police guarded it throughout the night.
This morning, when the suitcase was opened, the body of a woman was discovered inside, with a scarf and rope tied tightly around her neck.
