Former prime minister Jhala Nath Khanal has been hospitalised on Monday morning after he reported various problems resembling symptoms of Covid-19.

Khanal had contracted Covid-19 on May 1. He was hospitalised that time also and was discharged after 10 days.

But, Khanal experienced fever, exhaustion and difficulty in breathing for the past few days. Hence, he was taken to the Norvic Hospital this morning.

The hospital informs he has been shifted to the general ward from the emergency ward in the afternoon and given oxygen support for further treatment. A blood test has shown low haemoglobin levels, according to the hospital.

“The symptoms show he might be suffering from post-Covid-19 problems,” the hospital’s update reads, “But, other necessary tests and treatment procedures are underway.”
