The Chitra Bahadur Thapa-led Rastriya Janamorcha Nepal has announced that it will field candidates for the upcoming National Assembly elections.
According to the party, the central committee meeting recently held in Butwal decided to field Shanker Baral in Gandaki and Shiva Paudel in Province 5. There are 18 seats up for grabs in the upper house for which elections are to take place on January 23.
The meeting also held that nationalism, republicanism, and secularism were under attack in the country and inflation and corruption have become rampant because of government apathy. The party, which has been vocal about criticising the federal setup, said the ill effects of federalism were now surfacing and Nepal needs to get rid of the federal order.
