International Nepali Literature Society celebrates 210th Bhanu Jayanti

The International Nepali Literature Society in New South Wales, Australia organised an event commemorating the 210th Bhanu Jayanti at Rockford College on July 14.

According to a press statement released by International Nepali Literature Society-NSW, poets Pratigya Adhikari, Dr Madhu Sudan Pudasaini, Mukti Ram Pokharel, Jitendra Malla, Buddhi Sagar Dawadi, Bhawana Parajuli, Nisprabh Saji, Sima Roshi, Surendra Dawadi, Ram Koirala, Ram Acharya, Bishnu Ghimire, Prabin Tandan, Maheshwar Sharma, Prabesh Paudel, and Umesh Chapagain recited their poems and gajals, on the occasion.

The programme was attended by special guests, including senior journalist Dhruba Hari Adhikari, Dr Narayan Pradhan, and the president of NRNA Australia, Nanda Gurung. Mamata Tiwari chaired the programme, while Prakash Poudel charmed as the Master of Ceremonies.

Bhanu Jayanti is an annual celebration commemorating the literary contributions of Bhanubhakta Acharya (1814–1868).
